Thalma de Freitas, born on May 14, 1974, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is a singer and actress. She began her artistic journey at age 14, studying singing and theater at Teatro Escola MacunaÃma. De Freitas released her debut album, Thalma, in 1996 under Sony Music. She continued to release albums including Carnaval Só No Ano Que Vem (2007) and Sorte! (2019). De Freitas has collaborated with various artists such as Gal Costa, Mariana Aydar, Gaby Amarantos, Ed Motta, and Filipe Catto, as well as Kamasi Washington on three albums. She also performed at the closing ceremony of the 2012 Paralympic Games in London alongside Carlinhos Brown and Os Paralamas do Sucesso.
