Terry William Trotter, born on May 10, 1940, in Los Angeles, California, is an American jazz and studio musician. He began playing piano at age five, influenced by his mother who was also a pianist. By 15, he started performing professionally with artists like Charles Lloyd and Don Cherry. Throughout the 1960s and 1970s, Trotter collaborated with notable figures such as Bobby Hutcherson, Lena Horne, Joe Pass, and Chet Baker. He released his debut album Itâs about Time in 1993, which showcased his skills both as a pianist and vocalist. Trotter is also recognized for composing the theme music for the sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond (1996). His discography includes collaborations with Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Natalie Cole, and Celine Dion, among others.
