Regla Teresa GarcÃa RodrÃguez, known as Teté Caturla, and born on October 13, 1937, in Remedios, Villa Clara Province, Cuba, was a singer. She began her musical career with the all-female group Orquesta Anacaona and later joined Cuarteto d'Aida in 1963. After the death of Aida Diestro, the quartet's founder, GarcÃa Caturla took over leadership and led them on extensive tours across Panama (1978), Grenada (1979), Mexico (1983), Spain (1984), Angola (1986), Finland (1987), Argentina, France, Japan, Greece, and the United States. In 2003, she released her album Llegó Teté, which celebrated her 40 years of professional life and won the Gran Premio Cubadisco in 2004. GarcÃa Caturla also contributed to the 2015 video "Chan Chan - Song Around the World" by the Playing for Change movement, performing on a balcony in Havana. She passed away on September 4, 2023, at the age of 85.
