Biography

Somewhere between synthpop, disco and experimental electro, Belgian band Telex built their legend in the early 1980s. Formed in Brussels in 1978 by Dan Lacksman, Michel Moers and Marc Moulin, the trio attracted attention with their offbeat covers of "Rock Around the Clock" and "Twist à Saint-Tropez". These songs and the underground hit "Moskow Diskow" make the 1979 album Looking for St. Tropez a must-have. Telex's subsequent career was less prominent, with the albums Neurovision (1980) and Sex (Birds and Bees) (1981). In 1980, the group took part in the Eurovision Song Contest, finishing in last place with the ironic "Euro-Vision". On hiatus from 1989 to 2006, Telex made a comeback with the album How Do You Dance? which failed to wake up their old fans.
