Biography

Teijo Joutsela, born on August 29, 1912, in Helsinki, Finland, was a violinist, singer, and actor. He began playing the violin at 15 after being taught by his father and later studied under Heikki Halonen at the Conservatorio de Helsinki. Joutsela's early career included performances with the orchestra Amarillo from 1930 to 1935, during which he released his first recording, J.V. Heimo's waltz, "Helena", in 1932. After an accident in 1938 that injured his left index finger, Joutsela focused on entertainment music. He worked at the Teatro Sueco and later became a member of the group Kipparikvartetti and the orchestra Humppa-Veikot. His discography includes notable albums such as Humupekka (1979). Joutsela passed away on September 15, 1999, in Helsinki.
