Ramnad Krishnan, born on September 14, 1918 in Alleppey, Kerala, India, was a vocalist specializing in Carnatic music. He began his musical training under C.S. Sankarasivam and later studied with Smt. Brinda, which significantly influenced his career. Krishnan's notable performances included memorable concerts featuring rakti ragas such as Begada and Sahana. He served on the faculty of Government College of Carnatic Music in Madras and was a visiting professor at Wesleyan University. Krishnan recorded two albums for Nonesuch Records' Explorer Series. He passed away on January 29, 1973. His legacy was carried forward by disciples such as Prof. Ritha Rajan and Nagamani Srinath.
