Biography
The Tune Wranglers is a Western swing band formed in 1935 in San Antonio, Texas. The ensemble's original membership included vocalist Buster Coward, banjoist Eddie Fielding, and fiddler Charlie Gregg. Joe Barnes replaced Fielding soon after the groupâs formation, and Eddie Duncan joined the band on steel guitar around 1936. The ensemble performed in Texas and Mexico and received airplay on radio stations including WOAI and KTSA. In 1936, the group began recording for Bluebird Records. The band recorded approximately 80 tracks under its own name and the Spanish moniker âTono Hombresâ. These recordings included a session of Hawaiian-style songs with Neal and Beal.
