Denis Pambou Tchicaya, known as Tchico Tchicaya, is a Congolese musician from around Pointe-Noire. He started his career in 1969 with the orchestra Manta Lokoka and from 1972 to 1974, he joined Les Bantous de la capitale, contributing to the "Isabelle mwana ya Kin" (1974). In 1976, Tchico moved to Nigeria, adopting the nickname "Golden Voice" and recording four albums. He relocated to Abidjan in 1981 and formed a duo with Mavoungou Lolo Lolitta for the hit Jeannot, où est le sérieux?. In 1983, he settled in Paris and collaborated with various groups. From 1999 to 2005, he lived in Australia, founding Warako Musica, which won Best Stage Orchestra at the Australia Best Live Music Awards in 2000. Returning to France, Tchico led Maya-Maya Musica, performing traditional Congolese music.
