Biography

Mikel Herzog, born on April 16, 1960, in Bergara, Gipuzkoa, Basque Country, Spain, is a Spanish singer-songwriter. In the 1980s, he was part of various groups, including his own band Ébano, and served as the drummer for Cadillac before joining La Década Prodigiosa. Herzog wrote hits for other artists, such as "Tractor amarillo" for Zapato Veloz in 1993. His solo career began with several singles in the 1990s, including a duet with Mónica Naranjo titled "Hasta el final del mundo". In 1998, Herzog was selected by Televisión Española to represent Spain at the Eurovision Song Contest with "Qué voy a hacer sin ti?", which finished sixteenth out of twenty-five entries. He released several albums as a solo artist, including Bienvenidos al paraíso (1992) and Un regalo de amor (1994). In 2001, Herzog joined the team of Operación Triunfo, serving as the post-academy director.
