Biography
Formed in Badajoz in 1987, Spanish pop-rock group Tam Tam Go! was created by brothers Nacho Campillo (lead vocals, guitar, bass) and Javier Campillo (guitar, harmonica, backing vocals), later joined by Rafael F. Callejo (guitar, backing vocals) and Javier Ortiz (drums). The band debuted in 1988 with the English-language album Spanish Shuffle, which introduced their distinctive blend of pop melodies and international influences. They gained wider attention with the bilingual album Spanish Romance in 1989, followed by their breakout hit âEspaldas mojadasâ in 1990, a track that addressed the struggles of undocumented immigrants and featured in the album by the same name. Their 1992 album Vida y Color continued this momentum, but the group went on hiatus shortly afterward. Tam Tam Go! returned in 1999 with Nubes y Claros, featuring the massive radio hit âAtrapados en la Red.â In 2001, they released Miscelánea, and in 2007 came Euphoria, including the single âEl móvil de Lucifer.â After a quiet period, the band made a comeback in 2019 with the album Volando sobre un tacón. In 2023, they resumed touring and introduced new material, releasing âPuente de plataâ ahead of a forthcoming 2025 album. The singles âDel mundo lo mejor,â âPájaros que vuelan bajo,â and âOtros tiemposâ set the stage for this next release, reaffirming their place in Spanish pop-rock.
