Biography

Andreas Tomalla, known professionally as Talla 2XLC, was born on March 13, 1963, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany. He began his career working at a record store and later became a DJ and producer of electronic music. His breakthrough came with the founding of the Technoclub event series in 1984, which significantly influenced the development of the German techno club scene and the international trance scene. Talla 2XLC's early projects included Axodry, Two of China, Moskwa TV, and Bigod 20. In 1998, he released compilations such as hr3 Clubnight Volume 2 and 20 Years of DJ’ing – 1978–1998. Notable singles from his career include “NRG (meets Tom Wax)” (1998), “World in My Eyes” (2001), “Come with Me” (2001), “No Inbetween” (2007), “The Air That I Breathe” (2004), “Carry Me” (2006), and “Light Years Away” (2009). He also collaborated with Skye on the EP Rise (2013). Talla 2XLC was awarded the Ehrenplakette der Stadt Frankfurt am Main in April 2010 for his contributions to music. Additionally, he has been active as a DJ and remixer, working with acts like Rank 1 and Darude. His Technoclub CD series and regular radio appearances on Sunshine Live have further solidified his presence in the electronic music community.
