Biography
Formed in Aarhus in 2018, Svaneborg Kardyb is a duo of Danish musicians consisting of pianist Nikolaj Svaneborg and drummer Jonas Kardyb. Operating in contemporary jazz blending keyboards and percussion, they are influenced by minimalism, ambient electronic music and traditional Scandinavian folklore. The duo appeared on the jazz scene with the album Knob (2019), which earned them two Danish Music Awards for Jazz in the Talent of the Year and Jazz Composer of the Year categories. The following year saw the release of the album Haven, again on the independent Blik Flak label, before the duo signed with UK label Gondwana Records for the next two, Over Tage (2022) and Superkilen (2024).
