Biography

Super Heroines was an American deathrock trio formed in Los Angeles in 1981. The trio consisted of Eva O on guitar and vocals, Sandra Ross on bass, and Del Mar Richardson on drums. Super Heroines released their debut album, Cry for Help, in 1982, followed by Souls that Save in 1983. Unlike other early deathrock bands such as Christian Death and 45 Grave, Super Heroines blended a more punk-style metal inspired by the Runaways. The band's lineup evolved over time, with notable members including Jill Emery on bass and Steve Darrow on drums. In 1993, they released Love and Pain. Eva O went on to play in Christian Death, while Jill Emery played with Hole and Mazzy Star. Del Mar Richardson pursued a career as an actor and model after leaving the band. The group's music was compiled into Anthology 1982-1985, released in 2006 by Cleopatra Records.
