Biography
S.U.N. Project are a Hamburg group formed in 1996 by Marco Menichelli, H-Man McCoy (Maik Hinkelmann), and guitarist Matthias Rumöller. A 1992 trip to India introduced the original trio to Goa trance, shifting their music from metal to trance. After their formation, they signed a contract with Spirit Zone Recordings, with whom they released Drosophila (1997) and Macrophage (1998). Subsequent releases, including Zwork (1999), Paranormal (2000), Insectified (2003), Wicked (2005), X Black Album (2008), Metallic Taste (2012), and Superâ¯Nova (2015), combined trance with ambient textures. After McCoy left in 2011, Menichelli and Rumöller continued to produce and perform together.
