Biography

Stephanie Davis is an American country music singer and songwriter born in the United States. Davis began a professional career as a songwriter in Tennessee, with compositions recorded by artists including Shelby Lynne, Martina McBride, and Waylon Jennings. Their breakthrough occurred in 1993 when Garth Brooks recorded several of their songs, including “The Gift” (1993), “Wolves” (1993), and the top 20 single “We Shall Be Free” (1992). Davis performed as an opening act for Brooks and was a member of their road band. Their debut album, Stephanie Davis (1993), featured the single “It's All in the Heart” (1993), which reached number 72 on the Billboard country charts. Davis established the label Recluse Records and released the albums I'm Pullin' Through (1996), River of No Return (1998), and Crocus in the Snow (2003). Their discography includes the holiday recording Home for the Holidays (2005) and the simultaneous releases Western Bliss (2009) and Western Bling (2009).
