Biography

Stendal Blast, a German band formed in 1989 around singer Kaaja Hoyda, originated from Dorsten. The group began their musical journey in an abandoned silo, initially focusing on improvisational performances. Their breakthrough came with the composition "Mehr als Liebe ist Hass" (1992), leading to their first demo tape Müll (1993). This demo caught the attention of Gymnastic Records (later Chrom Records), resulting in their first album Was verdorrt (1995) under the name Stendal Blast. Their 1998 album Alles Liebe marked a shift towards Neue Deutsche Härte with tracks like "Öl". Notable collaborations included Alexander Veljanov of Deine Lakaien on "Nur ein Tag" and Blutengel on the album Schmutzige Hände (2004). The band's final performance took place in 2013 at the Moritzbastei in Leipzig.
