Biography

Stef Carlens, born Stef Kamil Carlens on September 27, 1970, in Schoten, Belgium, is a bassist known for his contributions to rock music. He began his career as part of the indie group Zita Swoon, initially known as A Beatband and Moondog Jr., which evolved into the polymathic ensemble Zita Swoon Group. Carlens also played bass and sang with dEUS before leaving in 1997 to focus on Zita Swoon. Carlens' solo career includes notable albums such as Making Sense Of ∞ (2019), Stuck in the Status Quo (2017), and Be Who You Wanna Be (2024). His discography also features live performances like Play Bob Dylan (Live 2021-2022) (2023) and collaborations with other artists. Notable singles include "Lament On General Smedley D. Butler" (2020), "Back On The Road" (2019).
