The Craftmen Club, a French alternative rock group from Guingamp, Brittany, was formed in May 2000 by Steeve Lannuzel and Yann Ollivier. The band quickly gained traction with their energetic live performances, debuting at the Vieilles Charrues festival in July 2002 and releasing their first EP, Jesus is a Hit and Run Driver, Man, later that year. Their breakthrough came with the release of their debut album, I Gave You Orders Never to Play That Record Again, in April 2005, which was followed by extensive touring across France, Switzerland, and Belgium. The Craftmen Club's second album, Thirty-Six Minutes, released in February 2009, integrated country elements and received critical acclaim. In September 2013, they released their third album, Eternal Life. Their final album, Colores, was published in November 2017. The group announced their separation in October 2018, concluding with a farewell concert in Brest.
