Biography

Steel Prophet, an American power metal band from Middletown, Connecticut, was founded in 1984 by Steve Kachinsky. The initial lineup included Gary Stocking on vocals, Wayne Faircloth on bass, and Harry Blackwell on drums. In 1987, the group moved to California and underwent several lineup changes before releasing their demo album Inner Ascendance in 1990. Their first full-length album, The Goddess Principle, was released in 1995. In 1999, they signed with Nuclear Blast and released Into the Void (Hallucinogenic Conception). The band's subsequent albums included Dark Hallucinations (1999), Messiah (2000), Book Of The Dead (2001), and Unseen (2002). Notable vocalist Rick Mythiasin left the band in 2002, leading to a series of lineup changes. In 2004, Nadir D'Priest joined as the new vocalist for their seventh album Beware. The band continued releasing remastered vinyl editions of previous albums and new material, including Omniscient in 2014.
