Biography

Stan Van Samang (born on March 19, 1979) is a Belgian actor and singer who jumped to fame in the early aughts as Kevin in the Flemish soap opera Wittekerke. In 2006, he entered the charity TV show Steracteur Sterartiest as a singer, winning the competition and landing a recording contract with EMI shortly after. Preceded by the chart-topping gold single “Scars,” his studio debut Welcome Home arrived in 2007 and peaked at Number 3 on the Belgian charts. Another Top 5 entry ensued in 2009 with Take It From Me, his sophomore effort, which spawned the charting singles “This Time” and “I Didn’t Know.” He followed up with King in My Head and Stan Van Vrijdag, both released in 2011. His appearance on the music TV show Liefde voor Publiek prompted the release of the 2015 album of the same name, which went straight to Number 1 in Belgium and became the best-selling Flemish that year, earning a five-times platinum certification. In 2016, he reached the top of the charts once again with an eponymous album and hit Number 3 in his native country with seventh album 10, released the following year.
