Sorcha Nà Ghuairim, born on October 11, 1911, in RoisÃn na Manach, Carna, Connemara Gaeltacht, County Galway, Ireland, was a singer known for her contributions to Irish folk music. She began her career as a teacher and writer, joining her sister Máire Nà Ghuairim in Dublin in 1928. Nà Ghuairim's musical journey took off when she recorded her first album, Sorcha Nà Ghuairim Sings Traditional Irish Songs, while visiting her brother in the United States in 1945. The album was issued as Folkways Records. She later moved to England in 1955 and continued her work until her death in 1976.
