Biography

Sophie Rimheden, born Sophie on March 24, 1975, in Bjärnum, Sweden, is a Swedish singer and DJ known for her contributions to electronica. She began making music as a child and transitioned into electronic music at age 13. Her first album Underneath the Floor was released in 1999 under the name Hayce. Rimheden's breakthrough came with the release of Hi-Fi, her debut album under her own name, in May 2003 on Mitek Records. This album won the Manifest Prize for the best Postrock/Electronica album of 2004 and received several Swedish music industry nominations. Notable tracks from this period include "In Your Mind," which sampled the bassline from Bananarama's "Cruel Summer." Rimheden continued to release albums such as Miss (2004) and Sophie Rimheden (2005). In 2012, she released the album Haj, which featured themes related to her hometown.
