Justin Osuji, born in Glasgow, Scotland, is a Scottish singer-songwriter and producer known professionally as Sonny J Mason. Osuji began a music career at age 14 upon signing with Virgin Records UK. His first four singles released under the name Justin, including âThis Boyâ (1998) and âOver Youâ (1999), reached top 40 positions on the UK Singles Chart. In 2000, Osuji released the debut album Finally (2000) and received the Young Scottish Achievers Award. Osuji later adopted the alias Sonny J Mason and released the EP Life Is the Music (2008). As a producer, Mason collaborated with artists including Faith Evans, Kimbra, and Gabrielle. In 2015, Mason contributed to the production of âGet Stupidâ (2015) by Aston Merrygold, which reached number 10 on the ARIA Charts.
