Biography

Skiltron, an Argentine Celtic folk metal band, was formed in 2004 by guitarist Emilio Souto and featured notable musicians such as Diego Valdez on vocals and Fernando Marty on bass, among others. The group's origins date back to 1997 when Souto and Matías Pena founded Century, which later became Skiltron. Their debut demo, Gathering the Clans, released in 2004, won Demo of the Year from FM Rock and Pop's program Tiempos Violentos. In 2006, they released their first album, The Clans Have United, which was also named Album of the Year by the same program. Their subsequent albums include Beheading the Liars (2008), The Highland Way (2010), Into the Battleground (2013), Legacy of Blood (2016), and Bruadarach (2023). The band gained international recognition through collaborations with artists like Steve Ramsey and Jonne Järvelä, and performances alongside bands like In Extremo and Korpiklaani.
