Biography
Skalpel is a Polish nu jazz band that emerged from WrocÅaw in the early 2000s. The group, which combined electronic influences with jazz harmonies, first appeared on the Polish scene with the 2003 release Sculpture. In early 2004, Skalpel followed up with the thematic album 1958 on 15â¯March and their selfâtitled record Skalpel on 18â¯April, cementing their reputation for experimental grooves. Their subsequent release Break Out added a more melodic edge, while the 26â¯September 2005 album Konfusion showcased tighter arrangements and expanded collaborations with local musicians. Throughout its brief but prolific career, Skalpel toured extensively across Poland and attracted attention from independent labels, though it did not achieve significant chart positions or awards before disbanding in the midâ200s.
