Sigrid Terese Moldestad, born on July 19, 1972, in Breim, Gloppen, Norway, is a Norwegian folk singer and instrumentalist. She graduated from Firda High School and Ole Bull-akademiet, and began her career working at the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation (NRK) before becoming a full-time freelance musician in 2000. Moldestad's breakthrough came with the duo Spindel, releasing their self-titled album Spindel in 2001 and later Aminje in 2005. She also formed the trio Gamaltnymalt alongside Håkon Høgemo and Einar Mjølsnes, winning the Spellemannprisen (Norwegian Grammy Award) for their self-titled album in 2005. Moldestad's solo career includes albums such as Taus in 2008, Sandkorn in 2010, and Himlen har sove bort mørkret in 2012. She has also won multiple awards, including the Folkelarmprisen in 2010 for "Best Folk Singer of the Year" and the Gammleng-prisen in 2014.
