Shmuel Dovid "Shmueli" Ungar, born in 1990 in Kiryas Joel, New York, is an American Hasidic singer and songwriter. He studied at the Satmar yeshiva and later at institutions in London and Monsey. Ungar's musical career began at his sister's wedding, leading to performances at weddings in Williamsburg. His debut album, Shmueli-2, was released in 2016, produced by Naftali Schnitzler with compositions by Moshe Laufer, Pinky Weber, and others. In 2018, he released Mach a Bracha!, followed by On Stage in 2019, which featured over 50 wedding songs. Ungar's subsequent albums include Madreigos (2020) and Back Stage (2022). His album Shulem Aleichem, released in 2024, was voted Album of the Year by streaming app 24Six. Ungar also hosts a Yiddish-language podcast titled ShmueliCast, which has a significant following on YouTube.
