Biography

Shin Hyeong-won is a distinguished South Korean singer, composer, lyricist, and professor known for her profound social commentary and warm humanity in music. Debuting in 1982 with the omnibus album Embers and Glass Wall, She gained significant recognition with her second album Fireflies (1987), winning the Gold Award at the MBC Beautiful Song Awards in 1987. Her discography includes notable works such as "Too"(1987), "Firefly"(1987) and "From Seoul to Pyongyang"(1991). Her unique vocal style, characterized by a clear, pure voice and an impressive three-octave range, has earned him numerous accolades, including the Korean Broadcasting Producer Award for Singer and the Most Literary Singer Award. She composed and sang President Kim Dae-jung's official memorial song, "You Are Us" and served as a public relations ambassador for the World Environmental Olympics Ramsar Conference. Her impact extends beyond music; she has performed at significant events like the 1st National Unification Concert in Pyongyang, representing South Korea.
