Biography
Shawty, born Saim Seymen Ekentokgil on February 10, 1995, is a leading Turkish rapper known for his unique blend of trap, hip-hop and Turkish music influences. Growing up in Istanbul, Shawty developed a deep passion for music at an early age, inspired by both Western rap and traditional Turkish sounds. His career took off in the mid-2010s with his distinctive voice and lyrical style, attracting the attention of Turkish youth. Shawty released his debut album, Hiçbir Åey (2017), which showcased his signature sound and marked his entry into the Turkish rap scene. He gained widespread recognition with the release of Uzaklar (2019), an album that produced several hits, including the track "Uzaklar", which resonated with fans for its introspective lyrics. In 2021, Shawty released DüÅlerim, a critically acclaimed project that showcased her growth as an artist. The album contained hits such as "Aynalar" and "Kayıp", which cemented his position in the Turkish rap industry. Other tracks followed after the release of the Shawty album in 2022, including "Kabul Olan Tek Duamsın" (2024), which found its place in various charts.
