The Turkish rapper, singer, and songwriter Bilgin Özçalkan releases music under the stage name Ceza. He was born on December 31, 1976, in Üsküdar, Istanbul. After working for years as an electrician, he formed the band U.C.S in 1995. After leaving U.C.S. in 1995, he teamed up with fellow rapper Killa Hakan to form a new band, Nefret. The duo debuted with Meclis Ala – İstanbul in 2000, then released a second album, Anahtar, in 2001. Med Cezir, his debut as a solo artist, followed in 2002. Two years later, he released Rapstar, a sprawling, 22-song project that sold more than 150,000 copies in Turkey and vaulted Ceza to the top of the country's rap community. Yerli Plaka, his third album, was released in 2006, featuring the lead single "Yerli Plaka" and the Sezen Aksu duet "Gelsin Hayat Bildiği Gibi." After releasing the Evin Delisi EP in 2007, he released a fourth LP, Onuncu Köy, in 2010. Suspus, his fifth studio album, followed in 2015, featuring songs co-written by musicians like Giorgio Moroder and Cahit Berkay. Although he didn't release any additional material during the late 2010s, his songs remained popular, with the Raptor track "Neyim Var Ki (feat. Sagopa K)" appearing on Turkey's Top 100 Apple Music in late 2023.
