Biography

Shannon Worrell is an American folk, rock, and chamber pop singer-songwriter and guitarist from Charlottesville, Virginia. After performing with the band Paris Match while attending the University of Virginia, Worrell launched a solo career and released her debut album, Three Wishes, in 1994 on Super Duke Records. The project featured collaborations with Tim Reynolds, LeRoi Moore, and Dave Matthews. In 1995, Worrell co-founded the group Monsoon, which evolved into the duo September 67. They released the album Lucky Shoe in 1996 and performed on the Lilith Fair tour in 1997. Worrell released the solo album The Moviegoer in 2000 before founding the non-profit Light House Studio. She resumed her recording career with The Honey Guide in 2008. In 2018, September 67 performed a reunion concert to benefit The Bridge Progressive Arts Initiative.
