Biography
Simon Christopher Bird, born 20 January 1977 in Portsmouth, Hampshire, United Kingdom, is a DJ and producer who performs under the stage names Shadow Child and Dave Spoon. After early exposure to synthâpop and 1990s house, Simon Christopher Bird released his first "21st Century" single in 2005, followed by the "At Night" EP in 2006. In 2008 he achieved a UK Singles Chart entry with "Baditude" at number 34, later climbing to number 29, and the collaboration "Bad Girl (At Night)" reached number 40. He signed to Toolroom Records and released the 23 EP in 2012, which, along with remixes of AlunaGeorge and Hot Natured, positioned him within the UK house scene. Subsequent releases include "Climbin'" (2014), "Rising High" (2024), and "Say It Now" (2025). He has maintained a presence on radio, notably as a resident on Kool FM, and continues to produce and perform across Europe.
