Biography

Septic Death was an American hardcore punk band formed in 1981 in Boise, Idaho. The group consisted of Brian Schroeder on vocals, Jon Taylor on guitar, Mike Matlock on bass, and Paul Birnbaum on drums. Initially a fun project without major ambitions, the band's name reflected their counterculture stance against religious beliefs promising an afterlife. Septic Death released several notable works during their active years. Their first EP, Need So Much Attention... Acceptance Of Whom, was published in 1984 under Pusmort Records, Schroeder’s own label. The band's album, Now That I Have The Attention What Do I Do With It?, gained popularity in Japan and was released by major label VAP. The band disbanded in 1986. Septic Death is recognized as a groundbreaking "speedcore" band.
