Biography

Sea Wolf is an American band led by Alex Brown Church, a founding member of the group Irving in 1998 who started performing as Sea Wolf with rotating backing musicians. In 2007, Sea Wolf signed to Dangerbird Records and released their debut EP Get to the River Before It Runs Too Low followed by the full-length album Leaves in the River (2007), which reached number 24 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. Their second album, White Water, White Bloom, was released in 2009. Sea Wolf contributed "Song of the Magpie" to Augusten Burroughs' audio book A Wolf at the Table (2008) and wrote "The Violet Hour" for the Twilight movie series' New Moon (2009). In 2014, Church funded an experimental album, Song Spells, No. 1: Cedarsmoke, through a Kickstarter campaign.
