Biography

Santiago Vicente Feliú Sierra was a Cuban singer-songwriter. He began his musical journey at a young age, learning from his brother Vicente Feliú and studying under Silvio Rodríguez. By the age of 13, he had connected with influential artists such as Ibrahim Ferrer and Gerardo Alfonso. At 16, Feliú joined the community of Cuban troubadours and became an important figure in the Nueva Trova movement. Nicknamed “El Eléctrico” for his innovative guitar style, he developed a distinctive approach that blended melody and text, as heard in songs like “Para Bárbara.” He collaborated with prominent musicians including Noel Nicola, Frank Delgado, Luis Eduardo Aute, and Vicente Feliú. His discography includes albums such as Vida (1985), Trovadores En Vivo (1986), and Futuro Inmediato (2000). Santiago Feliú passed away from a heart attack on February 12, 2014, in Havana.
