Biography

The Drovers were a Chicago-based rock band founded in 1988 by Irish fiddler Sean Cleland. The group's original songs were influenced by Irish traditional dance music, with Mike Kirkpatrick and Dave Callahan serving as primary songwriters. Their first studio album, World of Monsters, was released in 1991. In 1993, they appeared as themselves in the film Blink, contributing to its soundtrack. The Drovers stopped performing in September 2002. Mike Kirkpatrick passed away on August 27, 2020, at age 65 after battling colon cancer.
