Biography

No Fixed Address, an Australian reggae rock group from South Australia, formed in 1979 at the Centre for Aboriginal Studies in Music. The original members included Bart Willoughby, Ricky Harrison, Leslie Lovegrove Freeman, John Miller, and Veronica Rankine. In 1980, they released their debut film Wrong Side of the Road, which won the Jury Prize for best picture at the 1981 AFI Awards. In 1982, they signed with Rough Diamond Records and released their debut mini-album From My Eyes. The single "Solid Rock" from Spirit of Place (1982) peaked at number 3 on the Kent Music Report Singles Chart. They also became the first Aboriginal band to tour overseas, performing in Great Britain. In 1984, the group disbanded but reunited briefly in 1987–1988 and 2008 before a full reunion in 2016. No Fixed Address has been inducted into the Hall of Fame at the National Indigenous Music Awards and the SA Music Hall of Fame.
