San Cisco is an Australian indie rock group formed in 2009 in Fremantle, Western Australia, consisting of Jordi Davieson (lead vocals, guitar), Josh Biondillo (guitar, vocals), and Scarlett Stevens (drums, vocals). The trio began playing together after meeting in high school, with Jordi Davieson and Scarlett Stevens having known each other since childhood; they later added bassist Nick Gardner before shortening their name from King George to San Cisco. Their breakthrough came with the 2011 EP Golden Revolver, featuring the title track "Awkward" that gained national airplay on Tripleâ¯J and marked the bandâs first charting single; the single was later voted number 7 in the Tripleâ¯J Hottestâ¯100 of 2011. In 2012, San Cisco signed with Island Records and released their selfâtitled debut album San Cisco, which spawned the singles "Wild Things" and "Fred Astaire", the latter earning a nomination for Best Video at the 2013 ARIA Music Awards. The followâup album Gracetown arrived in 2015, followed by The Water in 2017, each supported by extensive Australian tours. In 2020, the EP Flaws and the album Between You and Me were released, and the band announced Under the Light, scheduled for 1â¯Marchâ¯2024, with the lead single "Lost Without You" issued in Februaryâ¯2023. San Cisco has received multiple nominations at the ARIA, AIR, and J Awards, and their music has consistently charted in Australia, underscoring their continued presence in the indie rock scene.
