Biography

Born in Congo-Brazzaville, Sam Talanis (real name Didier Samba) is a singer who blends reggae, salsa and rumba. He opened his recording career in 2008 with the album Pèlerinage For Africa (named Cri d'Amour au Congo), which won the Tam Tam d'Or award for best Congolese diaspora album that same year, a feat he repeated four years later in 2012 with his second opus, Vice Versa. After the single "Serment d'amour " in 2018, he returned with the album Symbiose (La rumba congolaise dans tous ses états) in 2019, the promotion of which was first interrupted by the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020. When Sam Talanis, who has been living in the Paris region of France for many years, was able to resume his concert series, he was able to defend the tracks taken from it on stage, such as "Marina fille des îles", "Yomabo", "Tokobe", "La salsa de Brazza" and "Remontada (Génération Zaiko)".
