Sally Ann Timms, also known as Sally Timms, born on November 29, 1959, in Leeds, England, is an English singer and songwriter. At 21, she recorded her first solo album, Hangahar, an experimental improvised film score with Pete Shelley of Buzzcocks in 1980. Before joining The Mekons in 1986, Timms was part of a band called the She Hees. Her solo career includes notable releases like To the Land of Milk and Honey (1995), Cowboy Sally's Twilight Laments... for Lost Buckaroos (1999), and In the World of Him (2004). Timms' musical style often falls under alternative country, and she has toured extensively with other bands on Bloodshot Records. Her notable songwriting includes "Horses", covered by Will Oldham.
