Å aban Å auliÄ, born on September 6, 1951, in Å abac, PR Serbia, FPR Yugoslavia, was a Serbian and Yugoslav folk singer. Encouraged by his uncle Alija, Å auliÄ began his music career in the mid-1960s. In 1969, at age 18, he recorded his first single "Dajte mi utjehu", which became an instant hit and led him to relocate to Belgrade. By the mid-70s, Å auliÄ became a household name with songs frequently requested in kafane. His career spanned over five decades, marked by numerous albums including DoÄi da ostarimo zajedno (1978). On February 17, 2019, Å auliÄ died in a car accident in Germany following a concert. He was buried in the Alley of Distinguished Citizens at the Belgrade New Cemetery and posthumously awarded the Republic of Serbia's Golden Medal for Merit in February 2020.
