Biography
Saafi Brothers, a German ambient and electro music band formed in 1996, consisted of Gabriel Le Mar, Michael Kohlbecker, and Petro Nikolaidis. Influenced by styles such as electro, acid house, and dub, the group released their debut album Mystic Cigarettes in 1997 on Blue Room Released. Their subsequent albums include Midnight's Children (2000), Liquid Beach (2003), and Supernatural (2007). In 2014, Saafi Brothers released Live on the Roadblog, a compilation of live recordings on Iboga Records. Their sixth album, The Quality of Being One, was published in 2017 by Liquid Sound Design. The band has performed at notable festivals such as Sziget (Hungary), Tribal Gathering (United Kingdom), and Roskilde (Denmark).
