Ruti Olajugbagbe, born 20 September 1999 in Thurrock, is an English singer known professionally as Ruti who emerged on the public stage after winning the seventh series of The Voice UK in 2018, where they joined Sir Tom Jones’s team; their winner’s single "Dreams", a cover of The Cranberries, entered the UK Singles Chart at number 14 and topped the iTunes Store. Following that success, they released their debut EP Racing Cars in April 2019 through Polydor, featuring the title track "Racing Cars", which they performed in the final of the eighth series of The Voice; the EP was issued digitally and later the artist announced their departure from Polydor.
