Biography

Rusty Zinn, born April 3, 1970, in Long Beach, California, is an American electric blues and reggae guitarist and singer-songwriter. Introduced to the blues by his brother at age fifteen, Zinn began playing guitar at seventeen. A pivotal moment in his career occurred when Luther Tucker invited him to jam in Santa Cruz, leading to a mentorship under Tucker. Zinn quickly gained recognition as a member of various Bay Area blues bands. In 1996, he signed with Black Top Records and released his debut album Sittin' & Waitin' (1996). In 1999, he released Confessin'. He was nominated for a W.C. Handy Award in 1996 as Best New Blues Artist.
