Biography
Rudolf Alberth, born on March 28, 1918, in Frankfurt am Main, Germany, was a conductor. He studied composition at the Hoch Conservatory but turned to conducting, debuting in 1945. Alberth was dedicated to contemporary music, conducting numerous world premieres with the Bayerischer Rundfunk. In the 1950s, he collaborated with Olivier Messiaen, conducting the premiere of "Oiseaux exotiques" in Paris on March 10, 1956. From 1964 to 1968, Alberth served as principal conductor of the Niedersächsisches Symphonie-Orchester in Hannover. He authored Da capo. Heiteres und Nachdenkliches aus meinem Musikerleben in 1980 and passed away in Munich on May 29, 1992.
