Biography

US hard rock warriors Royal Bliss were founded in Salt Lake City, Utah, in 1997 by guitarist Chris Harding and frontman Neal Middleton, who later added guitarist Taylor Richards, drummer Jake Smith and bassist Tommy Gunn. After self-releasing a trio of offerings – Free Again in 1998, the Gimmie a Little Bliss EP in 1999 and compilation Old's Cool in 2001 – the band's 2005 album After the Chaos (and its remixed, expanded 2006 counterpart After the Chaos II) was taken up for distribution by Seattle label The Control Group, helping to raise the band's profile. Royal Bliss signed a major-label deal with Capitol Records and released their first official studio album, Life In-Between, in 2009, which made it onto the Billboard 200. That same year, the band released an acoustic EP capturing a performance for TV program Studio A, as well a Christmas single, which included fan favorite and B-side, "Music Man". The group's subsequent studio albums, 2012's Waiting Out the Storm and 2014's Chasing the Sun, were released through their own Air Castle label. 2016's The Truth EP was also a self-released effort. In 2019, Royal Bliss delivered a new self-titled LP, featuring the singles "Pain" and "Hard and Loud".
