Biography

Brandon Roy Wronski (May 22, 1988) is an American singer-songwriter who performs under the names Roy English and Jagwar Twin. Born in Los Angeles, California, he founded the indie-rock bands Dead Letter Diaries and Eye Alaska before embarking on a solo career in the early 2010s. Mentored by musician Jeff Bhasker, Roy English honed in on his production and songwriting skills, landing credits on Lana del Rey’s 2014 single “I Can Fly” and Alesso’s UK Top 5 single “Cool” in 2015. That year, he also made his recording debut with the single “Julianne.” I'm Not Here Pt. 1, his first extended-play, came out in 2016 and was followed by the 2017 singles “Hotel Pools 01101001” and “Outa My Head 01101110” in collaboration with DJ and producer Badhabit. In the subsequent years, Roy English continued to work as a producer alongside S1, Linus, and Blink-182’s Travis Barker, and began releasing music under the moniker Jagwar Twin, starting with the 2018 single “Loser.” Premiered on Zane Lowe’s Beats 1 show, “Loser” notched up over 100,000 streams in its first day and was included in Jagwar Twin’s studio debut, Subject to Flooding. After a short tour throughout the US titled Live in Close Proximity during 2019, he returned with the single “Happy Face” in 2020.
