Rothko, an English ambient group from London, was formed in 1997 by Mark Beazley, Crawford Blair, and Jon Meade. They released their debut album A Negative for Francis in February 1999 on Lo Recordings. Between 2001 and 2004, Beazley performed under the Rothko name with various lineups. In 2004, the group stabilized with Beazley, Michael Donnelly, Ben Page, and Tom Page. This lineup released several albums, including A Life Lived Elsewhere (2007) and 1997 and Other Things (2007). The group disbanded in October 2010 but reunited in July 2015 with the release of "Severed Tense" EP on Trace Recordings, featuring Beazley and Donnelly.
