Biography

Ronald Patrick Escheté, born August 19, 1948, in Houma, Louisiana, is an American seven-string jazz guitarist. He began playing guitar at age 14, studied classical guitar and flute at Loyola University in the late 1960s, and worked with Buddy Greco in Las Vegas from 1969 to 1970. His educational journey began in the early 1970s at community colleges in southern California, leading to teaching positions at the Musicians Institute in Hollywood and later at California State University at Long Beach. Escheté's discography as a leader included albums such as Spirit's Samba (1977), To Let You Know I Care (1979), and Christmas Impressions (1982). He has also collaborated with notable artists, including Ray Brown, Ella Fitzgerald, Dizzy Gillespie, Milt Jackson, and Diana Krall.
