Roberto César Iannacone, known professionally as Roberto Yanés, was born on April 25, 1932, in Córdoba, Argentina. He began his musical journey at a young age, participating in radio programs and studying music at the Provincial Conservatory of Music. In 1956, Yanés moved to Buenos Aires, where he worked as a pianist and singer of boleros, tango, and jazz. He signed with CBS Records in 1958, releasing his first singles, "Dónde estará mi vida" and "El espejo", which were moderately successful. His voice became a staple in popular songs like "Camino del puente" and "Contigo en la distancia". Throughout his career, Yanés received numerous awards, including the MartÃn Fierro Award (1962) and Konex Award (1985). He passed away on May 30, 2019.
